The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Justice celebrated Tuesday this year's National Sports Day by organizing joint events at the headquarters of the University of Doha for Science and Technology, with wide participation from employees and their families.
The joint event featured twelve various sports, including walking, warm-up, football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and sports activities for children to instill a culture of sports and interest in them at an early age, as well as consolidate awareness about the importance of practicing sports as a healthy lifestyle for all age groups.
The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Justice stressed the importance of participating in the Sports Day activities to enhance the development of a healthy society capable of keeping pace with modern lifestyles in a way that embodies the lofty goals of Amiri Decision No. 80 of 2011 regarding the adoption of the National Sports Day, while adhering to the standards and conditions announced by the Sports Day Committee.
This year's activities were diverse and involved different age groups, with a keenness to encourage employees to practice sports as a sustainable lifestyle and to take into account diverse sports activities to suit the ages and different health conditions of the participants in a way that ensures their safety and avoids stress or injuries.
