The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers is hosting a unique and invaluable field visit for the jurists from the Ministry of Justice

Over two days, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers hosted a field visit organized by the Contracts Department of the Ministry of Justice for several jurists working in the department to learn about the legal and legislative experience of the Fatwa and Legal Studies Department and the Legislation Department, in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, within the framework of exchanging experiences and expertise in the legal field and improving the professional skills of contract management staff at the Ministry of Justice.

During the visit, the jurists were briefed on the organizational structure of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. They followed presentations on the competencies of the Fatwa Department, its work mechanism, and the procedures for studying each topic to issue the appropriate fatwa by the approved legal controls.

The jurists in the Contracts Department at the Ministry of Justice were also briefed on the legal experience of managing legislation. They reviewed the jurisdiction of managing legislation and the stages that the law goes through, from the approval stage in principle through the stage of legal study and ending with approval and issuance of the law within the framework of the legislation process plan.

They also reviewed the role of the Standing Committee for Legislative Affairs, which was established according to Emiri Resolution No. (33) of 2000, and followed presentations on the procedures for preparing legislation, the mechanism of the committee's work, and the stages that legislation passes through during its legal cycle. On the sidelines of the visit, the Contracts Department presented the Legal Departments of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers with a special issue of the Official Gazette documenting the stages of the emergence and development of the State Official Gazette.

On this occasion, Mrs. Nour Ibrahim Al-Muraikhi, Director of the Contracts Department at the Ministry of Justice, stressed the importance of the visit, which came at the initiative of the Contracts Department by the directives of His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Muhannadi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, in cooperation between the legal departments and the exchange of experiences and expertise to improve the quality of Legal work in the country, raising the efficiency of Qatari legal professionals and providing them with legal knowledge and skills that enable them to perform their legal work optimally.

Mrs. Nour Ibrahim Al-Muraikhi thanked the officials of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers for their scientific and organizational efforts to achieve the field visit's goals. She pointed out that jurists have gained significant experience that will not only expand their legal awareness but also deepen their practical culture, empowering them to develop legal work and align it with national development goals in developing human resources as a fundamental pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
